Clawed Demo Patch Notes
Documented Steam demo fixes and what to rerun after each update.
Flatrock Games ships Steam demo patches for Clawed while Prehistoria approaches full launch on August 13, 2026. Unlike silent hotfixes, several builds include public notes on the Steam community hub and Flatrock social channels linked from our Links Hub. This page tracks player-visible demo changes so squads know when to rerun walkthroughs, refresh co-op lobbies, or report new bugs with accurate build context.
Pair patch notes with Dev News for narrative context about co-op rebuilds and encounter redesigns, and with Release Date for schedule history.
How to check your demo build
Before co-op nights:
- Open Steam library - Clawed Demo (App ID 3770910)
- Confirm all squad members finished downloading the same update
- Host creates the lobby only after everyone restarts the game client
- Note the build or patch label from Steam news if reporting bugs to Discord
Version mismatches still cause invisible join failures - see Co-op Guide troubleshooting. Full game wishlist uses App ID 3394840.
Patch v0.4.5 (documented fixes)
Flatrock posted Small Patch v0.4.5 for the demo with three public fixes:
Notes readability - Fixed a bug preventing certain readable notes from displaying. Lore and puzzle hint notes in staff areas and shelters should now activate on interact. If your squad skipped note rooms assuming they were broken, revisit them after updating - some routes reference note codes indirectly.
Shelter storage duplication - Fixed a bug where two storage boxes appeared in shelters. Inventory confusion caused duplicate looting attempts and co-op desync around shared shelter caches. Post-patch shelters should show a single consistent storage interaction per room.
Floor collision on load - Fixed players falling through floors in certain locations when loading a save game. This especially affected teams resuming mid-demo near maintenance tunnels or multi-floor staff buildings. After v0.4.5, reload tests near your last checkpoint before committing to ferry push nights.
What v0.4.5 does not change
Public v0.4.5 notes do not announce new dinosaurs, weapons, or map expansions. Objective order on Demo Walkthrough and pickup lists on Key Locations remain valid unless a later patch says otherwise. Tier rankings on Dinosaur Tier List and Weapons Tier List stay demo-accurate for species behavior and gun damage.
If you notice undocumented loot shifts after updating, compare runs with Demo Checklist and post findings to Flatrock Discord with video timestamps.
Earlier demo milestones (context)
Understanding patch v0.4.5 requires the broader timeline Flatrock communicated publicly:
Co-op rebuild - Underlying online systems were reworked after early demo disconnects rather than patched superficially. Modern four-player sessions stem from this effort documented on Dev News.
Five-hour demo expansion - Playable content grew beyond the original short slice, adding zones like extended maintenance loops, waterfront ferry segments, and tourism exploration. Walkthrough hubs expanded accordingly - see Walkthrough Hub and Ferry Escape.
Encounter redesigns - Select dinosaur arenas and flanking routes changed after playtest feedback. Combat advice on Combat and Dinosaurs reflects current AI pressure but may shift again pre-launch.
Release delay to August 13, 2026 - Moved from July 23 citing launch window density and polish time - not feature cuts according to Flatrock’s Steam post on Release Date.
After you patch: recommended reruns
| If you play… | Rerun after v0.4.5 |
|---|---|
| Note hunters | Staff center and shelter note interactions |
| Co-op loot teams | Shelter storage checks with four players |
| Save resumers | Load game near maintenance and staff multi-floor areas |
| Speedrunners | Full demo once to confirm no new blockers |
Reporting new bugs
Flatrock requests build number, player count, game mode, and map location when filing demo bugs on Discord at discord.gg/N5pQDqvWME. Include whether the issue happens in Classic or Survival mode and attach screenshots for note or collision problems.
This unofficial wiki updates patch summaries after verified Steam posts - always cross-check official channels on Links Hub before treating third-party summaries as complete.

Readable notes that failed to activate, duplicate storage boxes in shelters, and floor collision bugs when loading saves in certain locations.

Steam auto-updates the demo, but every co-op member must restart the client on the same build before hosting. Version mismatches still break lobbies.
