Prehistoria Overview

Prehistoria is the abandoned dinosaur theme park that hosts the entire Clawed Steam demo - a layered map built from guest-facing attractions, behind-the-scenes staff corridors, and hazard zones where Flatrock Games stages survival horror set pieces. Learning the park’s biomes, enclosures, tunnels, and aquatic spaces helps you route efficiently between key pickups documented on Key Locations without sprinting into Spinosaurus patrol arcs or underwater predator lanes.

Park biomes at a glance

Prehistoria reads as four overlapping biomes rather than a flat open world:

Transit perimeter - Monorail platform, entry shelters, and the gated fence line. Low predator density except transitional raptor spawns between shelters. The gate card and shotgun live here in the first and second shelters.

Guest heritage zone - Museum galleries, toilet block services, and scenic paths with viewing rails. Utah Raptors exploit sight lines through gift shop windows and gallery doorways. The museum key arrives from the adjacent staff center, while the fossil sits in the toilet block - a critical map distinction for puzzle routing on Puzzle Solutions.

Operations spine - Ranger station, maintenance shed, fuse panels, and the Spinosaurus circle outdoor loop. Apex threat dominates the circle; staff tunnels offer safer but slower movement. The maintenance shed key, fuse, and wrench interactions cluster here.

Extraction waterfront - Underwater sluices, red-light diving paths, maze corridors, and ferry dock. Deinosuchus and Megalodon pressure rises in aquatic segments; maze junctions favor shotgun or assault rifle clears.

Major enclosures

Utah Raptor paddocks - Small pack hunters between transit and guest zones. Audio chirps precede flanks; narrow hallways near staff center are common ambush nodes. Rated mid-tier on Dinosaur Tier List.

Spinosaurus circle - Large outdoor patrol loop with the maintenance shed key on the opposite side from common player approach. Do not treat the viewing platform as a safe camp?Spinosaurus can snap sightlines across the circle.

Aquatic predator exhibits - Connected to service water tanks feeding the underwater red light route. Megalodon and Deinosuchus represent top aquatic threats; surface panic pulls players off the light path.

Enclosure boundaries are not always physical walls - some are audio triggers or broken gate meshes. Respect “staff only” tunnel signage; those routes often skip half an enclosure loop.

Tunnel network

Tunnels stitch Prehistoria together:

South tunnel - Unlocked via museum fossil puzzle; shortcuts guest heritage to operations spine. Primary path after Demo Walkthrough phase three.

Staff maintenance tunnels - Run parallel to Spinosaurus circle; lower visibility but tighter camera. Useful for co-op flanking when one player distracts at the circle rim.

Service sluices - Drop into aquatic biome; entry usually follows ranger station progress. Exit points toward maze or ferry branch per Demo Route.

When lost, identify ceiling pipes (maintenance), museum posters (heritage), or water noise (aquatic)?three quick biome tells.

Aquatic zones

The aquatic layer is a vertical map slice beneath boardwalks and pump rooms. Red lights mark safe navigation; deviating toward open water invites Megalodon strikes. Co-op teams should station one player at the surface entry to call light direction if the diver’s screen darkens.

Air management, if present in your build, turns aquatic zones into timed puzzles - do not explore optional alcoves until ferry objectives are secured. Button interactions at light nodes gate the next sluice; full sequence on Puzzle Solutions.

Co-op zoning strategy

Split by biome responsibility: heritage runner (fossil + museum), operations runner (shed key + fuse), overwatch (ranger rifle + maze), diver (red lights). Reconverge at staff center and ranger station - natural map hubs with multiple tunnel mouths.

Relation to demo route

Overview teaches where zones sit; Demo Route teaches when to visit them. Read both before Speed or Survival attempts. Return to Map Hub for hub-level links and Walkthrough Hub for step narration.

Full release may expand Prehistoria beyond this demo footprint - expect new biomes and enclosures at launch on Steam. Update navigation notes after major Flatrock Games patches.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What are the main biomes in Prehistoria?

Transit perimeter (monorail and shelters), guest heritage (museum and toilet block), operations spine (ranger station and Spinosaurus loop), and extraction waterfront (aquatic, maze, ferry).

Where is the toilet block relative to the museum?

The toilet block is a separate service building in the guest heritage zone - not inside museum galleries. You need the museum key from staff center before the fossil puzzle, but the fossil itself is fetched from the toilet block.

Which enclosure is most dangerous in the demo?

The Spinosaurus circle and aquatic predator zones are apex threats. Utah Raptors are dangerous in tight tunnels but manageable with the shotgun when grouped.

How do tunnels connect museum to maintenance?

Complete the museum fossil puzzle to unlock the south tunnel key, opening a shortcut from heritage galleries into the operations spine near maintenance and Spinosaurus patrol routes.

Does the park map change between Classic and Survival?

Layout stays the same; Survival increases enemy pressure and reduces forgiving resources. Navigation landmarks and tunnel paths are identical.
